"It was a lot of fun introducing Ms. Fritzie into my classroom. Students are excited to try to “check” someone else’s solution to a problem.
As a teacher, I like having Ms. Fritzie in my classroom because she uses the words “reasonable and unreasonable” in every problem situation. I also am a firm believer in having students draw pictures to find solutions. Ms. Fritzie requires this on every problem. Students work in groups to try to prove Ms. Fritzie and then when finished, I like to have “class math arguments” to see which groups have drawn the right conclusions. It is very interesting to see what various solutions are represented in the pictures drawn. Most of all, I like Ms. Fritzie because she is easily added to my week. Problems are intended for use once every two weeks, but you will find that students enjoy these and will want them more often.
